The White Horse Churton is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the countryside. As a result there are many footpaths available to be walked. We have provided a selection of pleasant walks that range in distance but which all start and finish at the pub. The pub has sufficient parking for walkers who have driven to the area.
The walks section of the website is not yet complete. The walks that are available here have all been measured using GPS so they should be very accurate distances. The times were also measured using the GPS system, however the actual time taken to complete the distances will vary depending on the strength of the walker and the condition of the footpaths at the time of walking. We have added photographs of some of the sites that can be seen on the walks as well as adding information regarding the flora and fauna that you may see on the walks.
All of the walks shown are along official public footpaths, or highways, and we ask that people walking in the area respect the rights of the landowners by not straying from the footpaths. We also ask that you respect the wishes of the people who walk these paths on a daily basis by not degrading the magnificent countryside with litter or damage.
Most of the suggested routes can get quite muddy, especially in the winter time so you should wear waterproof boots or wellies or similar footwear. Another thing you should take into account is that several of the routes go through the flood plains of the river Dee. The river Dee floods it's banks without fail at least once every year so if there has been a great deal of rain fall then you may want to try a route that doesn't go near the river.
We hope that you will enjoy the suggested routes, and hope to see you at the White Horse soon!
